Day 1 Arrival in Chennai (Madras)

Arrival in Chennai and reception of participants by a representative of our agency and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of the main districts of the state capital of Tamil Nadu with its many Green Spaces: Fort St. George, St. Thomas Cathedral, and Kapalswera Temple. Night at the hotel

Day 2Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram [80 km / 2 hours]

Breakfast at the hotel then departure to Kanchipuram “the golden city” one of the Seven holy cities of Hinduism, which is dedicated to the cults of Shiva and Vishnu. Formerly the capital of the Pallavas, Cholas and Rajahs of Vijayanagar, it seems today asleep. Day 3Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry [100 km / 2 hours]

Day 4Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Tanjore [200 km / 4 hours]

After breakfast, visit the French colonial city. It was until 1954, the capital of French comptoirs in India. Departure to Tanjore with stop and visit on the way of CHIDAMBRAM and the great Temple of Shiva Nataraja, dedicated to the music. Continue to Tanjore. Upon arrival in the city of Thanjavur,

Day 5Tanjore - Trichy - Madurai [160 km / 4 hours]

Breakfast. In the morning visit of Tanjore, the Brihadishivera Temple and the bronze museum. Then drive to Tiruchirapalli (easily Trichy – 60 km) and visit 3 km from the island of Srirangam and its shrine Ranganatha, a real temple city that enjoys exceptional activity. Continue to Madurai (120 km) on arrival at the hotel. In the evening you will head to the Meenakshi Temple to witness the sunset ceremony in the temple of the goddess Meenakshi during which the statue of Shiva is taken in procession to the room of the goddess Durga. Night at the hotel.

Day 6Madurai - Pariyar [145 km / 4 hours]

After breakfast, visit this great city of Tamil Nadu, which can be considered the religious and cultural capital of Tamil country. Full day dedicated to visiting the city and its Meenakshi Temple. This temple is dedicated to Meenakshi, the fish-eyed woman, a very old bellicose local deity, who was said to have three breasts and “fish eyes”. Shiva married her and the beauty’s gaze lit up, her aggressive instinct calmed down and her excess breast disappeared. Day 7Periyar - Munnar [110 km / 3 hours]

Early morning, boat trip on the lake, from where you may have the chance to see wild elephants but in any case many birds as well as otters. After breakfast, you will discover beautiful panoramas today, as you stroll the mountain range (Western Ghats) leading to the small town of Periyar, near the Periyar Lake National Park among the spice plantations. Visit of Periyar National Park. In the afternoon, drive to Munnar. Located at 1700m, Munnar is a haven of peace and freshness surrounded by hills covered with tea plantations. You can see on Mount Rajamalai, Nilgiri thar (wild goats). Free time to shop for spices, tea, coffee etc. Night at the hotel.

Day 8Munnar - Cochin [155 km / 4 hours]

After breakfast walk in the plantations. Then drive to Cochin. Arrival in Cochin. Upon arrival check in at your hotel. In the evening you can watch the elaborate makeup of the Kathakali dancers and the dance show. Night at the hotel.

Day 9Cochin - Alleppey (Cruise in the Backwaters) [60 km / 1 hour]

Breakfast. In the morning visit of Cochin: the Dutch Palace of Mattancherry, St. Francois Xavier Church, Chinese nets. Then departure by road to Alleppey. Installation on the house boat. You will discover a picturesque world where the houses boat navigate on stagnant rivers You will be able to sail on the lake Vembanad. Lake Vembanad which is also a bird reserve. Lunch dinner and overnight on the houseboat.

Day 10Alleppey - Cochin - Chennai [60 km / 1 hour + flight]

Breakfast on the house boat. Departure to Alleppey or end your cruise Then departure for Cochin to catch the flight to Chennai. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day 11Chennai - Transfer to the airport

Transfer to the airport for the return flight.
